Forum Post: TPS62130A: About ripple voltage in Power save mode

Part Number: TPS62130A Hi, When the device is operating in power save mode, does increasing the value of the output capacitor reduce the output ripple voltage? Without changing the inductor, the ramp speed will not change. And the on-time is fixed. So the output ripple voltage is expected to decrease. Best regards, Yuto Sakai

Part Number: TPS56221 Dear support member. My customer used TPS56221 and LM10011. I have a question. (Question1) In the combination of TPS56221 and LM10011, Is the TPS56221 VIN and the LM10011 VDD another power supply? Because The power supply is shared in the circuit diagrams described in the data sheet etc, there are many cases, I would like to confirm just in case. (Question2) If in the case of another power supply, Is there an oreder of rise sequence? Best regard. Bob Lee.

Part Number: TPS40210 Hi I have an question about TPS40210 Datasheet equation. Is the Equation 55 correct? The equation is from FET switching power loss. FET current(Id) of Boost convertor is Vin +/- 1/2 x dIL. I think, we should calculate by Iin instead of Iout. Is it correct? If it is correct, In case of the boost rate is high, it has big impact for customer calculation. I hope datasheet correction. Could you please check it?. Muk

Part Number: TL1963A-Q1 Hi, I have used LDO P/N TL1963AQKTTRQ1 in one of my design for 5V to 1.8V step down. Design details: Vin: 4.5V to 5.5V Vout (expected): 1.8V @500mA ADJ pin resistors: R2: 1.96k Ohms, R1: 4.02k Ohms While probing the Vout, I observed that at soon as the 5V input turns up, Vout of TL1963AQKTTRQ1 shoots up to 2V and linearly drops to 1.82V in 100uSec. This is an issue as the devices I am connected at Vout has absolute maximum rating of 1.89V, thus getting damaged because of initial voltage overshoot. Kindly suggest if there is any issue in my design and resolution to fix this problem, if any. Attached snapshot of my design and DSO snap for 1.8V overshoot. Best Regards, Chandan Kumar

Dear Sir, Thanks a lot. I am starting working on BMS and attached is the final schematic. during testing when i connect LED load to the Pack -ve and pack +ve terminal it works properly. But when i connect this to my circuit where i have to use this output voltage of bms slightly falls to 0V from 28V. circuit diagram of my application is attached and BMS schematic and layout also attached. Please support for the same. Regards Shashank (Please visit the site to view this file)(Please visit the site to view this file)(Please visit the site to view this file)

Hi Munin, The power dissipated by the IC will be the power at the pass FET (IRTN*IRTN*RDSon) and the power to drive the gate of the switching FET (VCC*ICC) and conduction loss of the switching FET (RDSonFET*Irms*Irms).

Hi CT, Have you seen the training video below? There are two approaches to UPOE. Forced UPOE (hardware) and LLDP UPOE (software). The 2x TPS2378 can provide the hardware classification if the UPOE switch is providing Forced UPOE. It can also do LLDP UPOE as long as the PD system ( microcontroller on the PD load and NOT the PD controller TPS2378) negotiates the higher power with the PSE through the data lines. After LLDP negotiation the PSE will turn ON its second port.

Hi Tuan, maybe I should ask the question differently: What will happen if I check or uncheck this 'Constant Voltage' checkbox, at the moment I don't see a relation to any of the chips register? Further, I would like to ask, is the source of the software, running on the MSP432 somewhere available? It seems there is only the elf file included within the software installer? Thanks, Andreas

Hi Dorian Sorry to disturb you again. We meet the problem when two LM2776 are parallelled. The total load current is 40mA, In 16pcs PCB testing, Most of the time the two LM2776 don't work at the same time. One work, another don't switch. And it is irregular. Below picture is the schematic. Pls help to check, thanks

Forum Post: RE: TPS23750EVM-108: How is an ESD spark on the secondary side of the transformer managed?

Hi Mats, If there is no true earth ground on the PD system, then there are two possibilities. One, if completely floating, then the impedance could be high enough such that ESD does not discharge through the PD since there is no common mode path to ground. The second, if there is an earth connection on the PSE side (most likely), then the ESD can find its way from secondary ground through the bob smith termination (if it is connected to secondary ground) and also through isolation cap near the transformer, through the PD, through the cat5 cable, and to the PSE's earth ground. The second reason is why it's good to have a controlled path to earth ground (connected at the secondary) to prevent the energy from finding its way to the PD controller.

Hi Mats, Typically for USB applications, you'll see the chassis of the USB port connected to secondary GND and connected to earth ground of the PD and connected to the bob smith terminations.
