They could have done a better job on the drawing. However, for some of us who had the benefit of taking mechanicl drawing class in middle school, we learned that to avoid cluttering up drawing area with numbers and pointers that can be derived/calculated, it was industry convention to leav many dimensions to be arrived by the user from the relevant figures. (Submit this is out date convention before the advent of auto cad and pc. Nevertheless its perhaps good for some mental gymnastic to avoid Alzheimer 's and early dementia.) For example, from the package drawing below one could inferred the dimension of the thermal pad, give this is a square package:
1) From pin#1 center to pin#6 center the spacing is 5*0.50mm, thus the area is 0.50mmx0.50mm
2) L=W=4.00+/-0.15mm; subtract this dimension from the length of the thermal pad and divide by 2 gives the spacing of the pad to the edge of the package, which is 0.75mm. *Thermal pad edge spacing is 0.75mm from the edge of the LM26480 package, and the area of the square thermal pad is 0.50mmx0.50mm. *
