Part Number: LMR14050 I am designing a PSU PCB with 3 different rails, but I’m unsure where to position the layouts for each of the 3 rails for best results. Up the top are 3 black lines representing the rails that the external devices will draw their current from. I want to have the components and most circuitry on the top layer, and the bottom layer reserved for a universal ground plane. Rail 1: +12V @ 3A - LMR14050 - large output current - Needs to be low noise - doesn’t add a large amount of switching noise to rail Rail 2 +5V @ 1A - LMR14050 - low output current - can be higher noise - doesn’t add a large amount of switching noise to rail Rail 3 -12V @ 1.5A (buck-boost-inverter) - TPS54540 - large switching current - needs to be low noise (preferably same as +12V) - Has a larger amount of switching noise on rail due to BBI design. Some restrictions: - position of output rails, power input and board size/shape can not be changed. - Board is limited to 2 layers. - all components must be on the top layer So my Question is: Where should I position each rail for lowest noise on the +/-12V rails? (considering that the +15V power and ground inputs are on the bottom left of the PCB)

Forum post: RE: BQ79606A-Q1: Problem waking it up for the first time
Good morning Taylor, We are a group of students and currently we can't not afford your EVM, so is there any other method in order to identify if it is a hardware issue? Also, is there any pin that should pull high or low when the BQ79606A-Q1 is active, so we can actually see if we have acheived it? Thanks, Alex

Forum post: eFuse roadmap
Dear all, I would like to ask about future eFuse road map. Our customers are looking for a device that meets the following conditions: Are there any plans to release devices that meet this criteria in future roadmaps? Input: 30V LimitCurrent: 10A Functions: Overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, reverse polarity protection (used for UPS protection) Best Regards, Y.Ottey

Forum post: RE: TPS62063: Minimum current flow before entering power save mode
Hello, you can have a look at the efficiency curves for your Vin and Vout. There is a local minimum (like a cusp point) and at this point you can see the load current, this is the value where the device enter in PSM. I attached here an example.

Forum post: RE: LM5021: Is there any limitation for cap value on SS pin?
Masa-san Below are answers to your questions Q1: There is no set maximum value for capacitance on SS pin Q2: You are correct, to disable skip cycle all you have to do is set an offset voltage of at least 125mV as Figure 12 (page 15) of the LM5021 datasheet shows. Best Regards, Eric

Forum post: RE: UCC28740: Is it possible extend the HV pin range upto 1KV by adding series resistors ?
Harshal First off I'd like to recommend considering our SSR flyback controller UCC28742. It's very similar to UCC28740, except it uses a resistor for startup. Since no high voltage is directly applied to this IC it is straightforward to scale it to support 1kW input. For UCC28740, you are correct that if you clamp the voltage on the HV pin you can use it with higher voltage inputs. You can either use a resistor, followed by a zener clamp to limit the voltage seen on HV pin to below 700V, or if you have a stacked capacitor on the input you can connect the HV pin to the mid point, allowing the voltage the HV pin sees to be half of the input voltage. Best Regards, Eric

Forum post: SOH monitoring of a "LG Energy 18650 Li-Ion Battery" when it is disconnected from the circuit
Hello, I'm asking for a solution to track the battery SOH. But in my special application, the battery will be disconnected from all the circuitry when discharging. So the battery management IC and Fuel gauge will be connected to the battery only when charging. I can't find any solution for this application even I do not know if it exists or if it is possible. Can you please recommend me any solution? Thanks in advance, Julian

Forum post: TPS7B63-Q1: LTSpice model
Part Number: TPS7B63-Q1 Hello, my customer with which we have an NDA tried to run a simulation on LTSpice with the PSpice model of the TPS63-Q1 (TPS6350-Q1); unfortunately he got an error message saying "too few nodes". It seems like this model is encrypted for PSpice only. Is it possible to provide an unencrypted model of this device that can run on LTSpice? Note: we have an NDA with this customer. Forum post: RE: BQ40Z50-R2: FCC drop to 0 when charging after low temperature
Thanks for your quick answer Steven ! - Smoothing is enabled - True Full Chg Q and True Rem Q are not at 0, at least during charge. I don't know yet when the FCC drop which values they have I'll try to have a log, but it's not easy as I have to access to I2C bus in the device; I'll try. Issue is replicable, as soon as I put at this temp and charge it it goes like this. In our application, its is possible to have intermittent connection / multiple connections during a charge cycle. Is that an issue ? After charging during some time, if I reset the BQ40Z50, the FCC recover and the device finish charging. I have to do a reset if the battery stop on Over Charge, in this case FCC does not recover as charge is stopped by OC safety. I did not try the R3 version. I would like to solve this issue quickly with the R2 if I can, or specific improvement have been made to the R3 than can help ?

Hi Gary, What do you mean by protection is turned on? Is charger indicating a fault condition? If so please check status of STAT1 and STAT2 and verify against Table 2. STAT Pin definition for BQ2461x in d.s on page 22. Verify test results with the charge state column.

I know it will be if you clear the bit in IOMUX. I suspect that even if the PWM is mapped to the TCK pin the output will still also appear on the PWM0 pin, but I’m not sure. If you want to know, just check.
