Forum Post: TPS2543 Temp concern

Hi team,

The TPS2543 is rated for 3A if you use RILIM_HI = 16.9kOhm but is rated at a max continuous current of 2.5A.  What would happen if I ran the part at 3A continuously?  My worry is that the part may go into thermal shutdown.  I could not find any info in the data sheet for temperature at a current of 3A.
