I have a bit of a problem. I have been using Transistors to drive Two IRF7389 Mosfets in a servo design. I have been using this circuit for a few years but for some time now I have been getting Latch Up and can't work out why. The maths is good and I can't find out what the cause is from the board as all the related components are completly destroyed.
So I have been looking for a Gate driver/s that I can replace the transistors with. I have been going over and over TI's Gate Drivers and getting more and mote confused.
There are hundreds listed and all I have got for my efforts are Headaches.
Can any one help me. Have included a PDF of the Digital side of a component layout "It's easier to follow than the schematic" I left the Analog side off as it isn't the problem.
As can be seen I have an ATMEGA48V 32 pin package I'm using pins 16 A and 14B slave 13 A 12 B slave Running at 360Hz. Digital signal from Pins 27 and 28 at 1kHz.
The 360Hz Signal go to Rohm UEX1 Twin Transistors through 4.5k Resistors The UH3 has its own 4.5k Resistors on its Base Pins, I lettered the pin sequence B,C,E, The Mosfets are P and N types with 1kHz Digital signal to drain. I do not have much room to fit the drivers the board area is only about 12mm wide and 4.5mm in depth so I am looking for packages about 3x3if using 2 and 8x3 in one package maybe a little bit bigger I will need to make new boards they are double sided but can't find much more room. Think of a Standared RC Servo and you will get the picture.
The main power is 8.4 down to 7.4 volts and I am driving the ATMEL Mcu at 3v.
THANKS GUYS
