Forum Post: Using the bq76PL536A-Q1 in an automotive BMS

Hi, I have a list of questions about the bq76PL536A-Q1:

I am thinking of using it to monitor a "string" of 100 Li-Ion cells in series for an automotive application.

1.  What is the maximum number of devices that can be daisy chained together?

2.  Using 25 ics in a daisy chain and a host MCU via SPI, what is the data transfer rate for each bq76PL536A-Q1 monitoring 4 cells each to collect all 100 cell voltages and 50 temperatures?

3.  When assigning addresses to each bq76PL536A-Q1, are these stored in nv memory or does it have to be done at every power-on?

Kind Regards,

Luke
