Forum Post: BQ76PL536A fault signals without uC

Hi team,

How much functionality does the BQ76PL536A lose with the absence of a uC in the system? More specifically, how are the error flags (FAULT signals, etc) read out without a host? How is the EPROM programmed/read?

(The system is the BQ76PL536A + BQ34Z100). Here, the PL536A is more like an AFE without a controller.
