Mike,
The given LED was selected for optical design reasons, so unfortunately I can't change it.
Would you suggest I try multiple secondary windings and diodes, or should I use the LM3450 and a LM3409? It seems if the multiple windings would work that I would end up with a smaller and lower cost solution.
If I use the LM3450, is there any reason I can't use an output voltage around 8V? I think the lower output voltage will improve the efficiency of the LM3409 stage but result in higher primary current. It appears to me the LM3450 can handle that.
Thanks.
