Forum Post: Thermal shutdown point of LM317

Hi,

I'm using LM317MDCYRG3 (SOT-223), I'm looking for the Tj at which the device will thermally shutdown, tolerance or limits of that point, and the hysterisis of temperature at which the device will come out of thermal shutdown. I could not find these in datasheet.

Example: Device will thermally shutdown at Tj of 170 C, +/- 10 C and it will resume its operation when it cools down to Tj of 155 C, +/- 5 C
