Hello,
I have been experimenting with the bqTESLA evaluation kit (bq500210EVM and bq51013EVM) for a while now and finally ordered a lithium ion charger evaluation board (bq24172EVM) to charge a battery. After looking into a way to power down the bq500210 transmitter on charge completion, I was surprised to find the tri-state status output of the bq24172EVM was incompatible with the tri-state control input of the bq51013 receiver. I have tried designing passive circuits to get the charge complete and charging signals to translate but there are too many non-discrete states to consider. Does anyone have an app note on how this could be done with out involving a microcontroller between them or can you suggest a standalone lithium ion charger that will better interface with the bq51013EVM. My constraints for the charger are: single 5VDC 1Amp input supply (Qi), 4.2V single cell lithium ion battery, provides a status feedback signal to the tri-state control pin on the bq51013EVM, and provides an input adapter current limit regulation (needed for Qi 1Amp output). Thank you for your help.
