Hello,
we decided to use the BQ77PL900DL in our LiIon BMS. We went through the first prototype round and everything was OK.
We have now contact an ODM in China for the second seires of prototypes and they said they are not comfortable to use this IC because:
"TI came up with BQ77PL910 which is the next generation IC that suppose to be better but not perfect yet. They have got some and evaluated it but has decided not to use it for mass production as there are still minor problems that need to resolve"..basically they will not use this IC for us.
I am surprised by this statement but I would like to know TI position on this, and what is your suggested BMS IC (8 Li Ion cells) that will guarantee the product is stable and available for a number of years.
